5 Foods You Should Be Eating

Food has been a staple for relationships, traditions and cultures since the beginning of time. Not only does it bring people together, but it can also save your health, nurture your body, increase energy and improve your physique. Food does not only determine how you look, but also how you feel.

Nutrient-dense foods are rich in vitamins, minerals and have numerous health benefits. By eating certain types of foods, you can cure health implications such as a lack of sleep, decreased mood, stomachaches and digestion, and even lower your risk of developing ulcers or cancer.

Listed below are five foods you should be eating and incorporating into your diet on a daily basis to increase your nutrient absorption, health and overall well-being.

    1. Bananas

Bananas have 30% of the day’s vitamin B6, which produces serotonin and increases mood. Many people take serotonin in capsule form because they are not aware a filling potassium-rich banana will do just the same thing, but much more naturally.

    2. Ginger

Ginger is a great spice for dozens of things. It improves the absorption of essential nutrients, cures stomachaches, dissolves sinuses, reduces flatulence and has anti-inflammatory benefits! Ginger is great for overall health.

    3. Honey

This natural nectar has some of the best properties, as well as an amazing flavor. Honey can help bring on calming sleep, as well as reduce gastrointestinal disorders and ulcers. Honey also contains simple sugars that are known to benefit athletic performance and keep energy high. Add some honey into your protein shakes for many additional benefits.

    4. Yogurt

Instead of buying endless amounts of probiotic capsules, indulge in Greek yogurt with some berries. Greek yogurt provides your intestines with healthy bacteria, which can improve your digestive tract and improve your immune system. Yogurt also has protein, which will strengthen your muscle, repair cells and keep your body lean.

    5. Salmon

To decrease your risk of cancer, improve brain function, increase heart health and prevent inflammation, your ultimate dish of choice is salmon. This fatty fish provides all the omega-3s you need for the day, so you can mark another vitamin off the list and simply eat real food.

It’s easy to prevent your health from declining if you eat right. Your body was made to function, grow and thrive off of natural nutrients and if you do your part, it will do its part! Just move your body, eat clean foods and watch your health improve daily.
